The much-anticipated Golden Goblet Award nominee film Unbeatable by Hong Kong China director Dante Lam will hit national theaters in summer, officials said at yesterday\'s 16th Shanghai International Film Festival.
The action drama starring Nick Cheung and Eddie Peng centers on the life and struggles of a man who is a former world boxing champion fallen on hard times. He works in a gym as a janitor and an assistant instructor in weight loss classes.
Director Lam, known for cop films Beast Stalker and The Stool Pigeon, said the new film is more heartwarming and touching than any of his former works."The film explores people\'s delicate and complex emotions," he said.
Eddie Peng said he was very happy to be working in the film with the award-winning Hong Kong China actor Nick Cheung. "I have learned a lot of acting skills from him," Peng added.
Yesterday\'s film festival also released new information about the live-action film I Love Wolffy 2 which is slated for national release on July 26th.
The film follows the adventures of Wolffy and his family to find missing treasure and was shot in Singapore. It includes stunning CG effects to create a fantasy atmosphere.
Wang Lei, Chairman of the film\'s producer Mr. Cartoon Pictures, said it retains the hilarious and fun flavors of the first installment. He said it is a production not just for kids, but caters to the whole family.
